The fastest wages in Latvia in the first quarter of 2020 grew in the public sector
The Central Statistical Office (CSO) of Latvia published a survey of wages in Latvia for the first quarter of 2020. The average salary fell by 1.2% compared to the fourth quarter of the year 2019 amounted to 1100 euros before taxes, writes the portal LSM. After taxes, the average wage is 812 euros. Salaries in the public sector grew faster than in the private sector by 7.8%. The level of wages in the financial, insurance, energy, public administration, informatics, extractive industries is higher than the national average. Lowest average wage in Latgalia, 747 euros, highest in Riga, 1227.
