The second flood in a year began on the Sungari River in China


On the Songgari River in northeastern China, the second flood began this year, Xinhua News Agency reported on September 22. Flooding began in the upper reaches of the river. According to data at 13:05 local time, the water level at the hydrometric station of Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province, reached 118.3 meters. The Heilongjiang Center for Hydrology and Water Resources issued a yellow flood hazard level at 14:00, and also warned of the threat of flooding in the Harbin section of the Songgari River. China has a four-tier weather hazard system that varies from blue and yellow to orange and red in the degree of threat.
