Kremlin does not rule out Putin meeting with Erdogan over Idlib
The authorities of the Russian Federation do not rule out negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Reg Taip Erdoğan. This was announced today, February 10, by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. As for the meeting of leaders, so far there are no concrete plans to hold the meeting, but if necessary it can take place, Peskov said. Recall that in the Syrian province of Idlib, where terrorist groups have dug up, the situation has deteriorated sharply in recent days. Syrian government forces are developing a successful offensive in the southern regions of the province. The offensive killed several Turkish military and civilians who were in fact located in terrorist groups. Turkey responded with strikes on the Syrian army, as well as the introduction of a large army group with armoured vehicles into Idlib. However, the Syrian army is not going to stop the offensive and today again attacked the Turkish stronghold in Idlib. Five Turkish military personnel were killed. The Russian-Turkish talks on the situation in Idlib took place today in Ankara. They did not give a noticeable result.
